Missing Driver /usr/lib/cups/filter/hpps

(5 replies) i tried to add the printer: hp color laserjet cp4020 series printer? but centos 7 must not know what driver to use. i was able to add a brother 7050 printer (with an hp compatible driver??) is there a way to get a driver for the hp cp4020? i googled for centos and this hp printer and looked on the hp driver site, but didn't find any info.. If this doesn't solve your problem, go and copy the "rastertospl" file, which is found at i386 folder (if you are x32 system) or at x86_64 (if you are x64 system), to the location "usr/lib/cups/filter" and then run the command.. Can you replace "foomatic-rip-hplip" with "foomatic-rip" in the ppd.ppd can be found in /etc/cups/ppd directory. as for the communication problem: it looks like the printer queue is using the hostname..

I did find post that i needed to install hplip, so i did that and now hpps in in the /usr/lib path, but there is still no cups dir in /usr/lib64 path. so i dont know if i have done something wrong, or if this is a bug...please help... Sdb:using your own filters to print with cups. jump works for the traditional printing data format postscript when a postscript printer is used and when a printer driver is used that is included in ghostscript. when printing data with the mime type text/plain in this queue because the necessary cups and foomatic filters are missing. Background: the print server we have is running opensuse with cups 1.5.4 my saucy ubuntu has cups 1.7rc1 the it here want to mess with my computer and downgrade cups to 1.5.4 i already tried to reinstall all cups, hplip, and various dependencies with no luck and tried using different driver versions.
